Himalayan Fantasies is a family owned and
operated trekking and tour business that has
been running expeditions in Kashmir and
Ladakh for over 30 years.
Our Founder and Head Guide:
Iqbal Kana is a native to Kashmir and
founder of Himalayan Fantasies.
Iqbal has lead over 100 trips in
Northern India for groups ranging from
medical doctors, yoga retreats, sierra club,
women executives in state and federal
government, and alumni from Yale University,
University of Wisconsin and The University
of Edinburgh.
Over the years, Iqbal has perfected the art
of trekking in Kashmir and Ladakh.
He was the first guide to be allowed to take
a small group of US tourists into
Ladakh when it first opened to tourists in
1974.
Not only is Iqbal an expert Trek
leader and mountaineer, he is also one of
the best trout anglers in the Kashmir Valley
and he regularly consults to the Kashmir
Department of Fisheries.
When not in India, Iqbal lives in
Portland, Oregon.
Iqbal personally leads all yearly trips.
